Preparation
- Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the seeds and white membranes.
- Pat the halves dry with a paper towel to avoid excess moisture.
Make the Cheese Filling
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, grated cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
Fill and Coat the Poppers
- Spoon the cheese mixture generously into the jalapeño halves.
- In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, melted butter, and smoked paprika until well combined.
- Coat the cheese-filled poppers with the breadcrumb mixture.
Air Fry Until Golden and Crispy
- Arrange the poppers cheese-side up in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Let them cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Consider adding a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture for an extra kick. Leftover poppers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
