Ingredients
  

Jalapeno Poppers
  • 5 pieces jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded Choose fresh ones with a vibrant color.
  • 4.5 oz cream cheese, softened Recommended: Philadelphia for the best texture.
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated Sharp or mild; fresh grated for optimal melting.
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped Add a pop of freshness.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Panko works beautifully for extra crispiness.
  • 1.5 tbsp butter, melted And cooled to room temperature.
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika For a hint of smokiness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the seeds and white membranes.
  2. Pat the halves dry with a paper towel to avoid excess moisture.
Make the Cheese Filling
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, grated cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
Fill and Coat the Poppers
  1. Spoon the cheese mixture generously into the jalapeño halves.
  2. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, melted butter, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  3. Coat the cheese-filled poppers with the breadcrumb mixture.
Air Fry Until Golden and Crispy
  1. Arrange the poppers cheese-side up in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
  2. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture for an extra kick. Leftover poppers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
