Preparation
- Cut the smoked sausage into 1/2-inch thick rounds yielding about 24 pieces.
- Cut the bacon slices in half lengthwise to create long strips.
- Wrap one bacon strip around each sausage round, securing with a toothpick.
- Stand each bacon cup upright on a cutting board.
Filling
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Spoon or pipe the cheese mixture into each bacon cup, mounding it slightly on top.
- Sprinkle about 1/4 teaspoon of brown sugar over each filled cup.
Cooking
- Arrange the filled cups in a single layer in the air fryer basket, bacon-side down.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes.
- Place the cups in the basket and air fry for 10 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve warm with BBQ sauce for dipping.
Notes
Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature for the best texture. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
