  • 1/4 cup butter, softened Use unsalted butter to control saltiness.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries Opt for ripe, plump blueberries. Frozen is acceptable if thawed and drained.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Add for desired consistency.

Preparation
  1. Ensure your cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for easy mixing.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. If the frosting is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  6. Swirl over cupcakes or use as filling for layer cakes.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. Can be made a day in advance. If too runny, chill it; if too thick, add milk gradually.
