Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 oz chicken, shredded into small bite-sized pieces Use rotisserie chicken for quick prep!
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature Choose a brand with minimal additives for a creamy texture.
  • 3/4 cup hot sauce Recommended: Frank's RedHot for an authentic Buffalo flavor.
  • 1.75 cups cheddar cheese, freshly shredded There's a noticeable difference compared to pre-shredded.
  • 1.75 cups mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded Use whole milk mozzarella for that creamy melt.
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing Store-bought is fine, but homemade takes it up a notch.
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Recommended: Hellmann’s for its rich flavor.
  • 1 cup sour cream Adds a delightful tang; Greek yogurt is a healthy alternative.
  • 1 cup jalapeno, seeded and finely diced into 1/4-inch pieces Adjust quantity to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can also elevate the flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Prepare your mise en place: Shred the chicken, seed and finely dice the jalapenos, and make sure the cream cheese is softened.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch dressing, mayonnaise, sour cream, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chicken and jalapenos until evenly dispersed.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Top with remaining cheeses.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

If you find yourself with leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. You can prep this dip a day before and bake it when ready. To avoid the dip getting too thick while baking, add more sour cream or mayonnaise if necessary.
