Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream Make sure it's cold for the best results.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Adjust quantity for desired sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure extract for richer flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Optional for a creamier texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. If using, add the butter now.
  2. Beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. (Optional) If making the buttercream version, gradually add the softened butter and continue to beat until fluffy, about another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Use immediately to frost desserts or refrigerate until needed. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Keep your ingredients at room temperature except for the heavy cream. If frosting isn’t thickening, chill the beaters and bowl before whipping again.
