- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut each jalapeno in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, grated cheddar cheese, and chopped chives until smooth and well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter until moistened. Add the smoked paprika.
Assembly and Baking
- Spoon the cheesy mixture generously into each jalapeno half.
- Gently sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the filled jalapenos.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
- Let the poppers cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use rubber gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid irritation. For a twist, drizzle with homemade ranch dressing or lime before serving.
