Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey Choose organic when possible for better flavor and quality.
  • 2 pieces apples Peeled and diced into 1/2-inch cubes; Honeycrisp recommended.
  • 1 large onion Chopped; yellow or sweet onions recommended.
  • 1.5 tbsp ginger Freshly minced for added zing.
  • 12 leaves fresh sage Chopped; fresh herbs elevate any dish.
  • 1.5 tsp sea salt Or to taste; coarse sea salt is recommended.
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil Great for high heat.
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil For added flavor and healthy fats.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and dice the apples and onion. Mince the ginger and chop the sage.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the avocado oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, sprinkle with 1 tsp of sea salt, and cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking apart as it browns.
  3. Once cooked through, transfer the turkey to a bowl and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add olive oil and the chopped onion with remaining sea salt. Cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  5. Toss in the diced apples and cook for approximately 10 minutes until softened but not mushy.
  6. Return the cooked turkey to the skillet, add the minced ginger, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped sage.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently. Consider pairing with sliced avocados or sautéed greens.
