Ingredients

For the Turkey Mixture
  • 2 lb ground turkey Choose lean turkey for a healthier option
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Use quality mayonnaise for the best flavor
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce A game-changer for umami flavor
  • 1 cup onions, finely diced Yellow or sweet onions offer a wonderful sweetness
  • 1 tbsp butter for sautéing; using unsalted allows you to control the salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika adds an irresistible smoky flavor
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise for the sauce
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tbsp pickle relish sweet or dill, depending on your preference
For Assembly
  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls are a must for their sweetness
  • 1 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded sharp cheddar gives a great flavor contrast
  • 6 slices American cheese for that gooey layer of goodness
  • 3 tbsp butter for topping; also use unsalted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter and add the diced onions. Sauté until they turn golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, and fish sauce until just incorporated—be careful not to over mix.
  4. Spread the turkey mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Make sure to drain any liquid after baking.
Assembly
  1. While the turkey is baking, prepare the sauce by whisking together 2 tbsp mayonnaise, ketchup, and pickle relish; set aside.
  2. Carefully cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the halves intact.
  3. Spread the prepared sauce on each bun half, followed by a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar. Add the turkey mixture on top, followed by the sautéed onions and American cheese slices.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the remaining melted butter, sesame seeds, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the assembled sliders.
  5. Close the sliders with the bun tops and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese has melted completely.
  6. Let them rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. Enjoy every amazing bite!

Notes

For an extra crunch, consider broiling the sliders for the last minute, but watch carefully! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a freshly baked feel.
