Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
- Slice your sausage into 1/2-inch rounds and cut your bacon into halves or thirds, depending on how much of the sausage you want covered.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, and brown sugar until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, diced jalapeno, cheddar cheese, seasoning, and smoked paprika. Mix until well incorporated.
- Transfer the creamy mixture into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off for easier application.
- Wrap each sausage round entirely with a piece of bacon, securing it with a toothpick. Place the wrapped bites on the prepared baking sheet.
- Cover each wrapped sausage with the cream cheese mixture using the piping bag, then top with a slice of fresh jalapeno. Brush each bite with the BBQ glaze.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
- Let them cool for 2-3 minutes before serving, allowing the cheese to firm up slightly.
Notes
