Ingredients

Frosting Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Let it sit at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes to achieve the perfect spreadable consistency.
  • 1/2 cup honey Choose a high-quality honey – local, raw honey adds a unique flavor.
  • 4 cups powdered sugar Sifted for the best texture. You can use organic powdered sugar for a more natural option.
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream Optional – use it to adjust the frosting's consistency if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Opt for pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter on medium speed until it's creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually pour in the honey, mixing until well combined.
  3. Slowly add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed to prevent a sugary cloud. This process should take about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Once all the sugar is mixed in, add the heavy cream (if using) and vanilla extract. Beat on high speed for about 3-5 minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  5. If your frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar; if it’s too thick, gradually add more cream or a little milk to reach your desired texture.
  6. Use immediately for spreading or piping over cakes and cupcakes.

Notes

Store this frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. When ready to use, allow it to come to room temperature and re-whip to restore its fluffiness.
