Prepare the Dough
- Pat each hot dog dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine warm water with the yeast and let it sit for about 1 minute until foamy.
Mix Ingredients
- Pour the foamy yeast mixture into a large mixing bowl, add sugar and oil, and stir to combine.
- Add 2 cups of flour and salt, mixing until you have a shaggy dough.
- Gradually incorporate the remaining flour while kneading for about 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let It Rise
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Shape the Pigs in a Blanket
- Preheat the oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, roll each portion into a thin strip about 8 inches long, and wrap around a hot dog.
Egg Wash Time
- Whisk together the egg and milk and brush the mixture over the wrapped hot dogs, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
