Preparation
- Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown. Reduce heat and continue to toast until dark brown, about 5-7 minutes. Cool on a plate.
- Grind the cooled sesame seeds in a mortar and pestle until they turn into a fine meal.
Mixing
- In the mortar, add Kewpie mayonnaise, neutral oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or brown sugar, toasted sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until creamy.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning to your preference, adding more honey for sweetness or soy sauce for saltiness.
Storage
- Pour the dressing into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a few weeks.
Notes
Make sure mayonnaise and oils are at room temperature for easier mixing. Store in glass containers for better flavor preservation.
