Cake Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use high-quality butter for the best results.
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounces) Cream cheese adds richness and keeps the cake moist; Philadelphia is a reliable choice.
  • 3 cups granulated sugar Balances the cocoa’s bitterness.
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature Room temperature eggs blend better.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds depth; pure vanilla is a must!
  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour For a light and tender crumb.
  • 3/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa Use Dutch cocoa for a more intense chocolate flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder To help the cake rise.
  • 1 pinch kosher salt Enhances all flavors.
  • 18 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped The stars of our cake—roughly chop for delightful bites.
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar For our sweet, drizzled glaze.
  • 2-3 tablespoons whole milk Adjust the milk for glaze consistency.
  • 1/2 cup roughly chopped Oreo cookies About 4 cookies for topping.

Method

Preheat and Prep
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). This ensures even baking from the start.
  2. Spray a 10-inch bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Cream the Mixture
  1. In a stand mixer, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in vanilla extract.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Combine
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined—don’t overmix!
  2. Fold in chopped Oreos gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Bake
  1. Pour the batter into the bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  2. Bake for 90-95 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Glaze
  1. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
  2. Mix confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth, and drizzle over the cooled cake.
  3. Sprinkle with the remaining chopped Oreos.
Serve
  1. Slice, serve, and enjoy! Your family will love you for this!

Notes

Make sure the butter and cream cheese are softened at room temperature for a smooth batter. For those avoiding gluten, a gluten-free all-purpose flour can substitute cake flour.
