Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use high-quality semisweet or milk chocolate chips; I love Ghirardelli!
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Opt for a full-fat version for the creamiest texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Always use pure vanilla extract for better flavor; I recommend Nielsen-Massey.
  • 1/2 cup crushed Robin Eggs candy You can find these candy-coated delights in candy aisles during spring.
  • to taste drops food coloring Optional; pastel colors elevate this fudge, so feel free to get creative!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir continuously until melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. When smooth, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. If you want that lovely pastel hue, add a few drops of food coloring now and mix until combined.
Layering
  1. Pour half of the fudge mixture into individual jars or a lined baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  2. Sprinkle the crushed Robin Eggs candy over the fudge layer.
  3. Carefully pour the remaining fudge over the crushed candy layer. Smooth the top again.
Setting
  1. Refrigerate to set for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  2. Once set, if desired, top with additional crushed Robin Eggs candy. Cut or scoop, and enjoy your delightful Robin Egg Fudge!
