Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey Lean and versatile, turkey provides excellent flavor without excessive fat.
  • 1/3 cup onion, finely diced Sweet and aromatic, onions add moisture and depth.
  • 4 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley, basil, or your favorite) Fresh herbs elevate the taste; I love a mix of parsley and basil!
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder For that savory kick.
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder Extra depth to complement the fresh onion.
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano Oregano brings a warm, earthy flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper Adds a touch of heat.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Essential for moisture and browning.
  • 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes Adjust to your spice level preference.
  • 1 tsp salt Helps to enhance all the flavors.
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated Adds richness and umami.
  • 1/3 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs Binder that keeps the meatballs from falling apart.
  • 1 each egg Acts as a binding agent to hold everything together.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, black pepper, red pepper flakes, salt, parmesan, and gluten-free breadcrumbs. Gently mix until just combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add it to the turkey mixture. Fold gently until the egg is fully incorporated.
  4. Using a tablespoon, portion out the mixture into 1.5 tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the meatballs.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 22-30 minutes, until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  2. Let the meatballs rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh herbs, avoid overmixing, and store cooked meatballs in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
