Preparing the Apples
- Place sliced apples into the bowl of a slow cooker.
- Add brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the apples. Gently stir to coat.
Combining the Topping
- In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Pour in melted butter and mix until coarse crumbs form.
Slow Cooking Time
- Pour the oat mixture over the apples, spreading it evenly.
- Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or low for about 4 hours. Check at the 1½-hour mark.
- Remove lid and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes to crisp topping.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Prepare apples and topping a day ahead and store in the fridge.
