Method
 

Preparing the Apples
  1. Place sliced apples into the bowl of a slow cooker.
  2. Add brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the apples. Gently stir to coat.
Combining the Topping
  1. In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Pour in melted butter and mix until coarse crumbs form.
Slow Cooking Time
  1. Pour the oat mixture over the apples, spreading it evenly.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or low for about 4 hours. Check at the 1½-hour mark.
  3. Remove lid and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes to crisp topping.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Prepare apples and topping a day ahead and store in the fridge.
