Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients.
- Ensure your apple cider is at room temperature for easier heating.
Cooking
- In a large pot over medium heat, pour in the fresh apple cider. Add orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
- Allow the cider to bubble and simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After flavors have developed, remove the pot from heat. Use tongs to remove cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
- Stir in the whiskey according to your taste preference.
- Pour the warm spiked cider into mugs, adding apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnish.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze it for future cozy nights. To serve, gently reheat the cider.
