Preparation
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine room-temperature unsalted butter and confectioners' sugar. Mix on medium speed for about 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Increase the mixer speed to high and whip for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture is light and airy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Lower the speed back to low, then gradually mix in molasses, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and kosher salt. Blend for about another minute until fully incorporated.
- Serve immediately or shape the butter into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Prepare ahead to allow flavors to meld.
